New TSA security policy on powders for travel to USA

New TSA security policy on powders for travel to USA

Due to new Transportation Security Administration (TSA) requirements for flights to the United States, which will become effective 30 June 2018, we encourage customers to place powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 mL in your checked bags.

Powders in carry-on bags may require secondary screening, and if the powder cannot be cleared by security officials, they will be prohibited from the cabin of the aircraft. To reduce the chance that aviation security authorities require the disposal of powder-like substances over 12 oz. / 350 mL at the checkpoint and/or gat, it is advised that passengers place these items in their checked bags.

This policy does not apply to flights departing from the United States and/or United States territories, as the TSA has already implemented enhanced procedures at their security checkpoints.
