FIJI AIRWAYS

Fiji Airways is the flag carrier and by the largest airline in Fiji. Previously known as Air Pacific, the airline rebranded to Fiji Airways in 2012. At the same time they went through a fleet upgrade and now operate modern Airbus and Boeing aircraft. The company also owns and operates Fiji Link (previously Pacific Sun) which flies domestic routes in Fiji and to some small neighbouring island countries.

Luggage Allowance: One piece of checked luggage up to 23 kilograms and one piece of carry on up to 7 kilograms included on all Economy fares. Increased allowances apply for higher classes (see below).
Seat Selection: Your House of Travel consultant can assign seats on most flights for no extra charge.

THE DIFFERENCE
- Fiji Airways doesn't have their own frequent flyer scheme, however you can earn points on your Qantas, Alaska Airlines, or American Airlines schemes when flying with Fiji Airways.
- Fiji Airways (then Air Pacific) and Qantas first started cooperating on flights in the 1980's. The cooperation has come to be known as codesharing, and is now used by most airlines around the world.
- Fiji Airways (then Air Pacific) and Royal Tongan Airlines once joint leased an aircraft, with one side being painted in Air Pacific colours and the other in Royal Tongan.

THE DESTINATIONS
New Zealand: Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to Nadi. Auckland to Suva.
Nadi: To Los Angeles, a couple of Asian gateways, and several other Pacific Islands.

THE CLASSES
Business: Business class passengers have larger seats, larger screens on the entertainment system, three course meals with drinks, express lanes at the airport and access to airport loung​e facilities. Checked luggage allowance is one piece at 30 kilograms, cabin is two pieces at 7 kilograms each.

THE HUB
Nadi International Airport: Is the largest and busiest airport in the South Pacific. The airport is small and dated, but is undergoing renovation to modernise the terminal. There is a handful of food stores and souvenir shops for those last minute gifts. Unfortunately the airport does not have air conditioning, but this will be remedied once the renovation is complete.
